Continuation of yesterday's post...

The Oath of Horatii also focuses on Enlightenment ideals and promotes personal freedom and duty, specifically using the piece as a call to arms for the French people (Smart History), while The Swing reflects the pre-revolution lifestyle of the rich in France, lacking really any tangible moral lesson. Although the pieces are from a similar time period, they could not be more different in terms of content and the meanings behind them.
