Rewritten segment of a book I wrote freshman year!

The interior of the house was probably the most striking thing they’d seen in a while. As soon as they entered the house, the first thing that caught their eye was the salmon-colored conversation pit with matching pink carpet. 

“I updated this place back in the 70s back when these were all the rage, and I haven’t felt like updating it since,” the man said while walking into the kitchen. 

The kitchen was just what they expected based on the living room, with granite countertops and highlighter green cabinets. Right outside the kitchen was an iron spiral staircase leading way up to the bedrooms. The climb was quite a hike, little Daisy barely maneuvering her legs to the top. Once they reached the second floor, all that awaited them was a long dark hallway.
