They rushed out the door after realizing they were late and quickly called a small yellow taxi to take them to the convention center. Sophie itched her eyes under the weight of the false eyelashes she was wearing to help ignore the fluttering butterflies in her stomach. She was about to go on the biggest stage she had ever been on before in a country she had never been in before. As they pulled up to the destination, her mom handed a crisp twenty-dollar bill to the driver before he sped away into the bustling city. They could hear all the music playing from the building, feeling the vibrations in their toes as they walked through the glass door.
