Day 488

Some of my earliest memories consist of me in a local, recreational dance class with my mom by my side. I’d wear big pink tutus that’d weighed down my chubby toddler legs, but I still didn’t care. I kicked my legs up as high as possible anyways and turned and spinned as much as my little body could handle. I started dancing competitively at the age of five and it became a true love of mine from there. I started doing dance solos when I was only a Kindergartener, once even performing for my whole class. Stage fright is not something that typically worries me because of my early exposure to putting myself out there and doing my thing. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of me winning trophies at dance competitions, surrounded by my teammates. Nutcracker music will also forever make me cry. I’ve competed internationally as well as performing alongside ballet greats like Maria Katchetkova and Marat Daukayev. I loved having principal roles during my time at a pre-professional ballet school and getting the chance to wear pointe shoes, which was something I’d never dreamed of doing.
