Remakes are not an inherently bad thing. They can give new life to otherwise outdated pieces of work, and can be extremely nostalgic for people who saw and enjoyed the original. The question becomes, do remakes hinder the creativity of the film industry? And more importantly, are they essentially created to take the WGA out of the equation? No one can know for sure.
