At its best, a community should benefit all who are involved in it, and more than that, should actively be welcoming others in. Community is like a safety net, each rope outstretched to support others, all while being supported itself. If one rope is loose, the whole thing collapses. Communities are beneficial to people because it creates a space for us to take our concerns to, as well as our triumphs, and downfalls. Without a community, we are essentially all on our own.
