Day 400

I think I can find a similarity with anyone I see in passing. A favorite movie, a similar laugh, the same color eyes. The trick to connection falls in what you have to relate to in each other. I've found that the most endearing conversations are those where I find a similarity in someone I never thought I'd have anything in common with. I recently was talking to an elderly woman at the nursing home that I was performing at as part of the musical. I was worried that it'd be hard to find the people who live there relatable, but it couldn't have been further from the truth. I talked with a woman, who's name is Aileen, about our love of dog for almost half an hour. She smiled as she talked about her poodle and I smiled the same while I talked about my dogs. The only difference between us were the wrinkles around her cheeks from all of the smiling she'd done, wrinkles I hope to have when I'm her age.
