Day 35

Here is a rewrite of the prompt I've been working on over the past few days. I decided to write it by revealing what was happening first.

I had been waiting impatiently for the arrival of my baby sister. I had spent months wondering about what she would look or act like. I pondered if she’d like Barbies like me or trucks like my brother. My godmother volunteered to watch us while my parents spent two days at the hospital. I spent many restless nights wishing time could move faster so I could meet her sooner. Part of me was scared I wouldn’t be a good sister to her. I had been a superb sister to my brother if you’d asked me, but I wasn’t sure if I could do as well a second time. I took great pride in my role as big sister, constantly jumping to get my brother out of danger. Sometimes I felt like my own sort-of superhero, with a flowing hot pink cape and mask to show for it.
