All they heard walking down the cobblestone lane was streaming water. She didn’t know where the water was exactly, but the sound was calming and eased her nerves of walking with a complete stranger. “Well here it is,” Lauren said in her least enthusiastic voice. The house was beautiful, made of stone, with a white picket fence guarding the lawn. Perhaps the most beautiful thing of all was the view, since the house was the furthest house to the top of the hill. The sunset glittered and gleamed in berry hues that Macy had never seen before in all the places she had lived.
