Day 216

Prompt: 20 years after your daughter was abducted, a detective finds you to reopen the case. The detective turns out to be your daughter.

It had been twenty years since my daughter was taken from me in the middle of the night. My heart ached every single time I thought of her, wondering where she was and if she was okay. It seemed like everyone, including my own family, had given up on finding her, except for me. Out of the blue, a detective contacted me about reopening my daughter's case. I was skeptical at first, thinking it was just another false lead or dead end. The detective looked familiar somehow, but I couldn't quite place it. As we delved into the details of the case, I couldn't help my fixate on a peculiar birthmark on her cheek. It was nearly identical to the one my daughter had as a baby, but it couldn't be her, could it?
