As I am reviewing AP US History for going back to school, here's part of a LEQ I've been reviewing and working on...

The British Acts were imperative as to why the Revolutionary War took place because of the desire for the British to pay off their massive debt from the French and Indian War. The British figured that they would be able to pay off the debt by putting taxes on the previously untaxed colonies. The previous policy of salutary neglect of the Colonies also magnified how much control that England had compared to before then, making it now seem as if the monarchy had a stronger grip on colonists than they actually did.
