Day 111

Whoops, I'm 10 minutes late (it's 12:10 AM). I'll still count this for the 15th. Sorry about not posting yesterday, bit of a crazy week with finals going on.

I just watched David Foster Wallace's "This is Water" in class about a week ago, and I have some thoughts.

In David Foster Wallace’s speech, This is Water, Wallace explains that one’s view of life can be tainted by the belief that the world revolves around themselves. He elaborates on this message by saying, “If you’re automatically sure that you know what reality is, and you are operating on your default setting, then you, like me, probably won’t consider possibilities that aren’t annoying and miserable. But if you really learn how to pay attention, then you will know there are other options” (Wallace). I believe that this idea is perhaps more prevalent today than it was when he wrote this years ago, with the creation of social media and the overall increase of self-involvement in not just my generation, but everybody.
